Uncle T’s Oyster Bar and Restaurant

With decades of history encapsulated within its walls, Uncle T's Oyster Bar, under the stewardship of new owners Anthony and Lexi Hebert, has undergone a remarkable transformation while honoring its timeless legacy. Originally erected in the late 1950s by Lexi's grandfather, J. Warren Landry, the all-brick structure served as the home of the Scott Post Office, alongside housing a laundromat and washateria within its 2,500 square feet. Transitioning through the decades, the space evolved into Cue Time Bar, a renowned billiards room and a hub for pivotal community gatherings. Nestled within the art district along the train tracks, this building has become an integral part of Scott's identity, cherished by locals and visitors alike.

After Anthony and Lexi took ownership in January 2016, extensive renovations commenced, with Vermilion Architects collaborating closely with the new owners to craft this distinctive establishment. Their expertise encompassed producing comprehensive architectural plans and designs, including an 1,800 square foot extension to house the boiling house/oyster bar, along with enhancements to the front restaurant/bar area and outdoor dining space. Preserving its historic charm, reclaimed wood from the nearby "Old Martin Farm" adorns the interior, while modern elements such as a 26-foot custom bar and a captivating oyster grilling room showcase the Heberts' innovative flair. Equipped with multiple TVs and retractable garage doors, Uncle T's is the ultimate game day destination. Outside of the building, a pergola and outdoor seating invite patrons to savor Louisiana's picturesque weather, while an expanded parking lot ensures seamless access. Uncle T's Oyster Bar emerges as not just a culinary haven but a testament to the enduring spirit of Scott's heritage and hospitality.
