  • Project Manager & Designer

Nicole Vigé, an experienced project manager and designer has 20 years of experience in the field of architecture. Raised in Breaux Bridge and educated in Lafayette, she earned her architectural degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. For 17 years she worked under architect Ken Tate, who received many accolades for his representation of and respect for traditional architecture. During this tenure, Nicole contributed to the restoration and expansion of historically significant structures, including residences in New Orleans' Garden District. Her projects often embraced a fictional architectural narrative, celebrating traditional styles, materials, and craftsmanship, occasionally incorporating culturally significant artifacts. Since joining Vermilion Architects, Nicole has played a pivotal role in transforming the old Capital One building in downtown Lafayette into the new Lafayette Parish Tax Assessor’s office. The restoration involved refurbishing the stucco exterior, restoring cypress french doors and trim work, and integrating extensive pecan wood paneling and millwork within. The redesigned office spaces within the original lobby reflect and celebrate the original French colonial style of the building, while remaining interior areas were adapted to suit their new functions.
